Former Melbourne Renegades fast bowler Cameron Stevenson has been included in USA’s T20I squad for the first time as one of several changes to the group headed to Zimbabwe next month for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier B tournament, from July 10 to 17.Stevenson, 29, has played 12 ODIs for USA, including five during the recent tour of Texas, since making his List A debut for the national team in the CWI Super50 tournament at Trinidad in November 2019. However, he has not played a T20 match since suiting up for the Renegades on New Year’s Day 2017, when he took the wicket of Kevin Pietersen at the MCG in a seven-run win over Melbourne Stars.Stevenson effectively takes a spot made available by the absence of Ian Holland, who was USA’s standout player at the ICC Americas T20 World Cup Qualifier in Antigua last November when his team-leading 10 wickets in six matches propelled USA to a first-place finish and a spot in Zimbabwe. Looking to use the January transfer window to seal promotion to the Premier League, the 49ers are now reportedly tracking a Championship defender who has already shocked Leeds United this season.

The January transfer window can quickly prove to be make or break for any side. It can commence a stunning resurgence or derail a season entirely. For Leeds, it could certainly be an interesting month. The likes of Pascal Struijk have already been linked with a winter departure to the Premier League in what would be a repeat of the summer departures of Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray.

Keeping hold of their central defender will prove to be imperative to their promotion charge, but those at Elland Road will be well aware of just how powerful the lure of the Premier League is to players in the Championship.

On the incomings front, meanwhile, names such as James McAtee have been threatening to steal the headlines. The Manchester City youngster struggled for game time in the first half of the campaign, even as the Premier League champions endured a run of one victory in 13 games. Now, he could reportedly look to leave The Etihad.

The midfielder isn’t the only one who has caught the eye, however. According to Charlie Gordon of The Express, Leeds and the 49ers are now tracking Japhet Tanganga alongside interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers this month.

Whilst Millwall are reportedly unlikely to entertain January offers, Tanganga’s agreement with the Lions that they must at least consider Premier League offers, certainly makes things interesting. Leeds, of course, may well be able to offer a route into the top flight by the time that May arrives.

The former Tottenham Hotspur defender needs no introduction to Daniel Farke either, having scored the winning goal in Millwall’s 1-0 victory over Leeds earlier this season.

Whether that audition was good enough to earn more than just the interest of those at Elland Road remains to be seen though.

"Excellent" Tanganga is "Premier League player"

Although things haven’t quite gone to plan for Tanganga in recent years, former Millwall manager Neil Harris was quick to admit that the defender is top flight quality earlier this season, telling reporters as relayed by Tribal Football: “I get on brilliantly with Japh.

“I just promised him rhythm, games, doing the best we can to keep him fit and giving him a platform to enjoy his football, and to restart and kickstart his career again, because he’s a Premier League player all day long, we all know that.

“We want him on the pitch every week and he knows his place in the team. I know what he’s excellent at, which is pretty much everything.”

With that said, if Leeds have their sights set on promotion then welcoming a player of such quality would certainly be quite the coup this month, especially if they beat the likes of Wolves to Tanganga’s signature.

Graham Potter delivered his first victory and three points for West Ham United since taking over, beating Fulham 3-2 in his first game at the London Stadium. Goals from Carlos Soler, Tomas Soucek and Lucas Paqueta for the Hammers – and a brace from Alex Iwobi for the visitors – ensured it was an entertaining spectacle on Tuesday night.

Despite having less of the ball (44% possession) and only taking four shots in the game compared to Fulham’s 21 shots, West Ham still managed to score three goals and create two “big chances”. Fulham generated a higher xG (1.90 xG) from their 21 shots and three “big chances” but failed to finish their chances, only scoring twice.

West Ham currently sit 12th in the Premier League following their victory against the Cottagers, but further improvements could certainly be made in this January transfer window, in order to equip Potter with the tools necessary for a strong second half of the campaign, starting with another striker option due to the current injuries in the squad.

According to reports from BILD, West Ham have held intensive talks with RB Leipzig over a potential move for striker, Andre Silva. The Bundesliga side are said to want the 29-year-old off their wage bill this winter, which could work perfectly for the Hammers, who are hunting for a centre-forward this January.

The move would likely appeal to Silva and his camp too, as his limited minutes this season have been coming from the bench, whereas West Ham could clearly offer the Portuguese forward a starting spot, leading the line in the absence of Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug – with the latter man now set to be sidelined for a ‘number of weeks’.

Silva – who has made 15 appearances for Leipzig this season, scoring just one goal, providing three assists and totalling 305 minutes – would represent the arrival of yet another experienced marksman from the Bundesliga, in the mould of Fullkrug, yet hopefully he could prove far more successful than the injury-hit German.

Another name being linked to a move to West Ham to ease their attacking injuries is Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, who is currently under contract with Forest until 2027.

The 27-year-old has made 18 appearances so far this season, scoring one goal in 383 minutes played.

Both Awoniyi and Silva fit the bill for what Potter will want from this centre-forward, being a focal point for other attacking talents such as Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen to play off of, something that has worked to good effect in his first few games in charge (once with Fullkrug/Danny Ings and once with Tomas Soucek more advanced).

Silva – who notably scored 45 goals in just 71 games for Eintracht Frankfurt – was described as “ice-cold” by Eintracht Frankfurt manager Adi Hutter back in 2021, saying his composure reminded him of Robert Lewandowski. In the 2023/24 season, Silva generated 0.41 xG per 90 (more than Fullkrug has managed per 90 this season) and on par with Awoniyi’s 0.41 per 90 last season too.

The main disparity in the metrics is aerials won per 90, with Fullkrug winning 4.88 aerial duels per 90. That being said, this is from a much smaller sample size (under 400 minutes) compared to the other two forwards. Silva and Awoniyi have shown their quality in the air, so this won’t be a massive concern for the West Ham scouts.

Whether West Ham decide to go for Awoniyi or Silva, or even elsewhere, they will certainly improve with a centre-forward addition who can apply similar traits to Fullkrug, being a reference point for Potter’s side and bringing others into play, as well as chipping in with some goals themselves.

Indeed, Fullkrug has shown flashes since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund – with two league goals to his name from nine outings – with the hope being that Silva could replicate such qualities upon his potential arrival from Germany, albeit over a move consistent period.

Andy Goram, the former Scotland and Rangers goalkeeper, and the last man to play for his country in both cricket and football, has died at the age of 58 after a short battle with cancer.As a left-handed batter, wicketkeeper and right-arm medium-paced bowler, Goram grew up as a keen league cricketer in the Saddleworth League in Oldham. However, his opportunities to play at a higher level were limited by his football career, and effectively ended with his £1 million transfer from Hibernian to Rangers in 1991, when his new manager, Walter Smith, ordered him to focus exclusively on football.Prior to that ultimatum, Goram played a total of five times for Scotland in the summers of 1989 and 1991: two first-class appearances against Ireland, a brace of NatWest Trophy first-round matches against Yorkshire and Sussex, and a one-off appearance against the touring Australians in 1989, a game for which he was fined for appearing by Hibernian.In front of a 10,000-strong crowd at Hamilton Crescent, Goram was bowled by the offspinner Tim May for 4, and went wicketless in his six overs as Mike Veletta and Tom Moody both made centuries in a 97-run win. تحدث مدرب إنتر ميلان سيموني إنزاجي، بعد التأهل المثير والمستحق لفريقه لنهائي دوري أبطال أوروبا أمام برشلونة.

والتقى برشلونة وإنتر ميلان في إياب نصف نهائي دوري الأبطال، ليلة الأربعاء، على ملعب “جوزيبي مياتزا”.

وحقق إنتر ميلان فوزًا بنتيجة 4-3، ليحسم التأهل للنهائي ويلاقي المتأهل من مباراة باريس سان جيرمان وآرسنال.

وقال إنزاجي في تصريحات نشرتها “سكاي إيطاليا”: “أولاً، عليّ أن أهنئ برشلونة؛ فريق قوي للغاية بالفعل، كان الأمر يتطلب أداءً خارقًا من إنتر”.

وتابع: “تصفيق حار لهؤلاء اللاعبين، الذين قدموا أداءين وحشيين في الذهاب والإياب، أنا سعيد لكوني مدربهم؛ لقد أعطوني كل ما لديهم، ومن حقهم أن يستمتعوا بهذا الانتصار في هذا الملعب”.

وأضاف: “واجهنا بعض الصعوبات مع إصابات لاوتارو، وتورام، ودومفريس، وفراتيسي، الذي لم يُكمل تدريباته أمس، لكن بشجاعة، وبفضل العزيمة والتكاتف، تمكنا من تخطي كل العقبات”.

وأكمل: “حاولنا اللعب وفقًا لقدراتنا، بعد مباراة الذهاب، كان لدينا خطة واضحة، لكن بدون التضحية والتعاون الجماعي، لم يكن من الممكن تحقيق ذلك، عمل رائع، الشباب يستحقون هذه الفرصة في المباراة النهائية”.

وأشار: “حاولنا اللعب بنقاط قوتنا، لم نكن مُتغطرسين أبدًا، لقد بذلنا قصارى جهدنا واستحقينا الوصول إلى النهائي”.

وأردف: “قيل الكثير عن لامين يامال، لقد رأيتُ لاعبًا استثنائيًا آخر في مباراتي الذهاب والإياب، والذي غاب بسبب الإصابة في آخر مباراةٍ لعبناها ضدهم”.

وواصل مشيدًا بلاعب برشلونة: “أبهرني فرينكي دي يونج تمامًا مثل يامال، فهو يجيد التعامل مع الكرة، ويمررها بدقة، إنه رائع، لن أستبدل لاعبي فريقي بأي لاعب آخر في العالم، ولكن خلال مباراتي الذهاب والإياب، وجدت دي يونج مذهلًا حقًا”.

وأتم: “كانت ليلة رائعة، ليلة نتشاركها مع جماهيرنا ونادينا وعائلاتنا، قدم اللاعبون أداءً استثنائيًا، لعبنا أربع مباريات رائعة ضد فريقين عالميين مثل بايرن وبرشلونة، كان من الرائع الاحتفال بهذا الإنجاز هنا مع جماهيرنا”.

أعلن الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم “يويفا” حكم مباراة باريس سان جيرمان وإنتر ميلان في نهائي دوري أبطال أوروبا 2025.

ويلتقي إنتر ميلان الإيطالي وباريس سان جيرمان الفرنسي في ميونيخ، لخوض نهائي دوري أبطال أوروبا يوم 31 مايو الجاري.

وقد عيّنت لجنة الحكام بـ “يويفا” الحكم الروماني إستفان كوفاكس لإدارة نهائي دوري أبطال أوروبا 2025 بين باريس سان جيرمان وإنتر ميلان.

الحكم الدولي، البالغ من العمر 40 عامًا، سيُدير ثالث نهائي له في مسابقات الأندية الأوروبية.

وسبق وتولى كوفاكس نهائي الدوري الأوروبي 2024 في دبلن، بين أتالانتا وليفركوزن، ونهائي دوري المؤتمرات الأوروبي 2022 بين روما وفينورد.

وقد أدار سبع مباريات في دوري أبطال أوروبا هذا الموسم، بما في ذلك مباراة إياب دور الـ 16 بين ليفربول وباريس سان جيرمان، ومواجهة ريال مدريد ومانشستر سيتي هذا الموسم.

وقد سبق للحكم الروماني أن أدار مباراة بين ريال مدريد ومانشستر سيتي في دوري أبطال أوروبا 2021/22، والتي فاز فيها الفريق الإنجليزي بنتيجة 4-3 في ذهاب نصف النهائي.

وتأهل إنتر ميلان على حساب برشلونة الإسباني، وحسم باريس سان جيرمان التأهل على حساب آرسنال الإنجليزي. طاقم تحكيم نهائي دوري أبطال أوروبا 2025
