According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur recently had a bid rejected for AS Roma centre-back Roger Ibanez.

The report by Voce Giallorossa (via Sport Witness) claims that Ilario Di Giovambattista revealed both Tottenham and Leicester City made recent offers of €30m (£25.7m) for Ibanez, who just signed a permanent deal with Roma having initially been on loan from fellow Italian outfit Atalanta.

According to Di Giovambattista, both Jose Mourinho and Brendan Rodgers have been tracking the £18m-rated centre-back for some time and will continue to do so despite the 22-year-old officially becoming a Roma player in recent weeks.

Considering that Ibanez has impressed over his 22 Serie A appearances for Paulo Fonseca’s side this season, with the defender’s average WhoScored match rating of 6.92 ranking him as the club’s sixth-best performer in the Italian top flight, the claim that Spurs have been keeping tabs on the Brazilian is not overly surprising, considering Mourinho’s desire to sign a new centre-back last summer.

However, it is more difficult to believe that the club would have offered a large sum of money for Ibanez in the January transfer window, as the Tottenham manager himself stated the club would not likely be doing any business in the winter market.

Indeed, Sport Witness suggested that Di Giovambattista’s claims could well be an attempt to make Roma’s business appear in a better light with the club’s supporters, which seems a much more plausible scenario.

وأضاف: “لم أر لاعب في سن الـ36 مثل كريستيانو رونالدو، حتى زلاتان إبراهيموفيتش، كريستيانو مختلف عنه كثيرًا، ولا أعتقد أن هناك أي سبب يجعلني أجلسه على مقاعد البدلاء، لأن وجوده هام للغاية، ولا يحتاج للراحة”.

وكشف رانجنيك: “غياب مارسيال ليس له علاقة بالإصابة، لقد أبلغني برغبته في الرحيل، ولن أمنعه من ذلك، لأنني متفهم بأنه يرغب في اللعب أساسيًا، وهذا سيحدث في مكان آخر بشكل أفضل”.

وعن موقف كافاني: “تحدثت معه وأخبرته عن مدى أهميته في مانشستر يونايتد، وهذا ما أظهرناه في المباريات السابقة، ونتمنى استمراره معنا بالتأكيد، لقد أبلغته أنني لن أوافق على رحيله”.

واختتم: “فان دي بيك لاعب جيد، أعلم أنه يريد لعب كأس العالم مع هولندا، ومن أجل تحقيق ذلك يجب أن يلعب، وهذا ما أحاول مساعدته به، يجب علينا أن نحافظ عليه والاستفادة منه”.

De acordo com a petição naVara do Trabalho,o Atlético-MGfirmou acordo com o atleta para pagar o valor da multa em duas parcelas mensais, cada uma no valor de R$ 415.082, 50. Esse valores são referentes à rescisão e ao salário do mês de junho de 2014. Uma seria paga em 25 de agosto de 2014 e a outra em 25 de setembro do mesmo ano. No entanto, o pagamento só foi efetivado em julho de 2016 – ou seja, com quase dois anos de atraso.

No fim desta manhã, o Atlético-MG se posicionou, via assessoria de comunicação, a respeito do caso envolvendo seu ídolo Ronaldinho Gaúcho, que chegou ao clube em junho de 2012,atuou em 88 jogos, marcou 28 gols e conquistou uma Libertadores, um Campeonato Mineiro e uma Recopa Sul-Americana.

Manchester United are readying a summer move for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

That’s according to sources from Football Insider, who claim that the Red Devils are looking to sign two goalkeepers in the upcoming transfer window, with Martinez top of their wishlist.

Martinez’s impressive Villa campaign

The 28-year-old, on £47,000-a-week, has more than impressed during his first season at Villa Park following his £15.66m move from Arsenal in the summer.

He’s kept 14 clean sheets in 27 Premier League appearances, conceding just 28 times. The Argentine’s displays appear to have caught the eye of United officials, who are now seemingly readying a shock offer.

Martinez, valued at £22.5m by Transfermarkt, is under contract at Villa Park until 2024, so Villa are under no pressure to sell.

A huge offer will probably be needed for Villa to even consider parting ways with the Argentine, who has been getting regular game time for the first time in his career in the Midlands.

David de Gea and Dean Henderson have been used at Old Trafford this season, so there’s no guarantee Martinez would instantly become first choice under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, even if one of those leave the Red Devils.

United may well be preparing a blockbuster bid, but we’re not convinced Martinez will be making the move to Manchester over the coming months.

Numerous fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relayed a report regarding the future of Riyad Mahrez.

According to the report by The Telegraph, European clubs have “been alerted” to the potential availability of the Algerian this summer, as the 30-year-old is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal at City with two seasons left to run his current contract.

The report continues by claiming that the £160,000-a-week winger is approaching a time when City players would typically open talks regarding an extension to their contract, but no offer has yet been made by the club.

After City Xtra relayed the report on Twitter, many fans of Manchester City flocked to have their say on the matter, with plenty appearing to be delighted at the prospect of their club selling the £37.8m-rated Algerian at the end of the season during which he has received some strong criticism from a section of supporters.

أبدى نادي بايرن ميونخ الألماني، اهتمامه بالتعاقد مع أحد لاعبي ريال مديد لضمه خلال فترة الانتقالات الشتوية الجارية.

وحسب صحيفة “ماركا” الإسبانية، فإن مدرب النادي البافاري، جوليان ناجيلسمان يريد التعاقد مع فالفيردي في ظل رغبته في تعزيز وسط الميدان.

فالفيردي مُنذ الانتقال إلى ريال مدريد، وتصعيده إلى الفريق الأول، ظهر بشكل جيد مع النادي الملكي، مما جعل مسؤولي اللوس بلانكوس يجددون عقده حتى 30 يونيو 2027.

وقالت الصحيفة إن ناجيلسمان يرى أن فالفيردي يتناسب تمامًا مع أفكاره لذا طلب المدرب الألماني من إدارة ناديه التحرك لضم صاحب الـ”23″ عامًا.

وأوضحت الصحيفة أن من جهته أيضًا مدرب ريال مدريد، كارلو أنشيلوتي، أخبر فالفيردي، أنه سيكون قطعة مهمة يتم الاعتماد عليها في السنوات القادمة، في ظل تقدم توني كروس ولوكا مودريتش في العمر.

Wolves have been linked with a couple of forwards in recent weeks but arguably, none will be more appealing than Dwight McNeil.

The Burnley winger continues to catch the eye at Turf Moor and as a result, he’s someone the Molineux outfit are being urged to sign.

That’s courtesy of Wolves legend Steve Bull, someone who opened up on the winger when talking exclusively to Football FanCast last week.

“It’s very rare that talented players like that go under the radar, Leicester found one in James Maddison. So, yeah all day long I’d take him,” he began.

“Put him in a good side full of talented and skilful players like we’ve got and it might bring him on leaps and bounds,” Bull concluded.

Bye-bye Neto

Wolves were unable to convince Matt Doherty and Diogo Jota from leaving for the jaws of the Premier League’s big six last summer and they could face the same eventuality in a few months time.

Dynamic forward Pedro Neto has been linked with a massive £50m move to Manchester United and if that does happen, Nuno Santo should look no further than McNeil as his replacement.

Like Neto, the Burnley winger possesses a mesmeric left foot and has a wonderful final ball to add to that.

For the Clarets this term, the £47k-per-week earner hasn’t amassed the greatest of numbers but it’s hard to really nail down regular goal involvements when you play for a team that operates in a more defensive manner.

He has two goals and three assists to his name this term, but has 14 assists in the last three seasons, a handy number for a player who is so rampant down the left.

McNeil has averaged 1.2 key passes a match this season, a tally that puts him behind only Neto, Adama Traore and Joao Moutinho at Wolves.

It’s hard to forget just how young he is too. The Burnley forward is still only 21 and has plenty of improvement left in his game. With that in mind, he ticks a pretty large box when Jeff Shi chooses who to sign.

Words from Harry Redknapp only add further appeal to his signature: “Dwight McNeil is such a good player, lovely left foot, doesn’t stop running,”

Redknapp added: “Every time I watch him he gets better and better, he’s got real quality and certainly a player that the top six to eight clubs will be looking at, and that’s no disrespect to Burnley because I don’t like saying that sometimes, but he is that good.”

Bearing those remarks in mind, Wolves must act quickly if they want to secure McNeil’s services.

It surely won’t be too long before he’s outgrown Burnley.
