Torcedores organizados chamaram o elenco de “pipoca”, Alberto Valentim e o ex-técnico Cuca de “pamonhas” e o presidente Maurício Galiotte de “banana”. Anunciada com pompa como patrocinadora do Flamengo no fim de 2016, a Carabao não será mais a principal investidora do clube em 2018. Diferentemente do que estava previsto, a empresa tailandesa de bebida energética seguirá estampando sua marca na manga da camisa rubro-negra na próxima temporada.

A informação foi divulgada inicialmente pelo portal Globo Esporte e confirmada pelo LANCE!. A Carabao enfrenta dificuldades no mercado brasileiro e ainda não conseguiu deslanchar nas vendas. Recentemente, a empresa atrasou o repasse do valor do patrocínio ao Flamengo.

A reportagem do LANCE! procurou o Flamengo, que diz estar confiante em continuar com a ‘camisa completa’, referindo-se aos patrocínios já firmados. O clube diz ainda já ter o ‘projeto completo para a camisa’ e que ‘tudo está sendo feito de forma calculada’, sabendo que ‘esse cenário era possível desde o início, dadas as necessidades e desejos das marcas parceiras’.

Atualmente, a Caixa Econômica Federal é a patrocinadora master do clube, mas somente até dezembro. O acordo deste ano foi firmado em R$ 25 milhões, com possibilidade de atingir até R$ 30 milhões dependendo dos resultados do time.

A princípio, os valores do contrato com a Carabao serão mantidos, mesmo com a manutenção da marca na manga da camisa. Pelo combinado, a empresa pagaria R$ 15 milhões no primeiro ano de parceria, aumentando este montante para R$ 35 milhões por temporada, até 2022.

No entanto, como as vendas da Carabao ainda não deslancharam, há possibilidade do contrato ser rompido em 2018. Caso as vendas não atinjam 37 milhões de latinhas vendidas (em setembro) ou a empresa decida encerrar suas atividades no Brasil, o patrocínio será encerrado.

Celtic could sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Hannes Wolf on loan, according to German outlet Kicker, relayed by reporter Sacha Pisani.

Rapid Wien have also been credited with an interest in Wolf, who has made just two Bundesliga starts all season.

Wolf, valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt, is primarily an attacking midfielder whereas Hatate and Ideguchi play in deeper central positions.

David Turnbull could miss two months of action with a hamstring injury, so bringing Wolf in on loan with a possible option to buy, as they have done with Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers, may well be a shrewd move for the second half of the season.

Wolf has struggled in Germany this season, however, he’s proven back in his native country with RB Salzburg that he has an eye for a goal and an assist, so a loan move could be one to keep a close eye on.

What’s the word?

During a recent online Q&A with supporters, the ever-reliable journalist was asked about the Brazilian’s situation amid reported interest from some of Europe’s elite, including Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and top-flight rivals Liverpool.

“Contract talks between Leeds and Deco, Raphinha’s agent, are ongoing. There is confidence a deal can be struck and the Brazilian will move onto terms which accurately reflect his status at the club and in the league,” he replied.

“Raphinha is not making life difficult for anyone in any way around this deal. Naturally, I cannot predict the future or what Raphinha’s camp may choose to do, but the noises are positive and it would suit all parties to sign a new deal and secure his value.

“Evidently, there is going to be plenty of interest in him this summer, whether he signs a new contract or not. It will be two full seasons under his belt and clubs will feel they can tempt him away after proving himself at this level in a new country.

“Leeds will of course only sell at the price they are happy with. Whether that’s in the summer, next January or summer 2023 remains to be seen.

“Do not overlook what the World Cup may do to his value if he’s still a Leeds player by then.”

Huge boost

This is hugely exciting news for both the Elland Road faithful and manager Marcelo Bielsa, even more so if they can keep hold of him past the 2022 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar next winter.

There is no denying that the 25-year-old is set for a huge future at a big club sooner or later. He has been in electric form this season and has often carried Leeds’ blushes.

Indeed, he is their top goalscorer this season with eight goals and he also leads the way for creativity, managing one assist and an average of 1.8 key passes per game, via WhoScored.

The Yorkshire giants may be eight points clear of the relegation zone, a little over halfway into the season, but they are by no means safe from a dogfight, especially as the two teams directly below them have either one or two games in hand.

Keeping hold of Bielsa’s star man will surely delight everyone concerned with the club and it is even more encouraging to learn that the Whites’ hierarchy are close to tying him down to a new contract.

That will either make it harder for the five-time Brazil international to move on, unless there is a release clause, or it will bolster United’s power in any future negotiations and thus help their chances of making a substantial return on their £17m investment in 2020.

Already valued at £36m by Transfermarkt, Raphinha is an integral part of Leeds’ plans in 2022 and it seems that, following Cross’ claim, the club are much closer to sealing his signature once again.

O zagueiro Lugano segue indeciso sobre qual será seu trabalho no ano que vem. Prestes a fazer seu último jogo oficial com a camisa do São Paulo, o uruguaio demonstrou gratidão ao torcedor tricolor pelo carinho recebido ao longo de toda temporada e espera tomar uma decisão assim que conversar com sua família nas férias. O clube do Morumbi ofereceu um cargo de gestão ao campeão mundial de 2005, mas ainda não obteve uma resposta.

– É uma fase difícil sempre para qualquer jogador. Decidir parar é um momento difícil. Hoje não tenho certeza. Daqui 15 dias vou para o Uruguai e converso com a minha família. No fundo, sinto falta de jogar. Nesse ano joguei muito menos do que pensava. As vezes temos essa sensação de que falta queimar um pouco de lenha. Talvez, com a cabeça mais fria, penso melhor e escolho o que for melhor para mim”, afirmou Lugano em entrevista para a ESPN Brasil.

Sem grandes oportunidades neste ano, o zagueiro será homenageado no fim de semana com a titularidade. Mesmo com o misto entre gratidão e incerteza, o jogador acredita ser muito difícil seguir sua vida longe do futebol. Afinal, aos 37 anos, Lugano dedicou mais da metade da vida ao esporte, tendo jogado duas edições da Copa do Mundo e vencido torneio importantes como a Copa Libertadores e o Mundial de Clubes pelo Tricolor, e a Copa América pela seleção de seu país.

– É impossível a gente não pensar no futebol. Fiz isso durante toda a minha vida. Qualquer coisa que a gente faça fora de campo, vamos começar do zero. Sou novato e inexperiente. نجح محمد صلاح، نجم فريق ليفربول، في تحطيم رقمي ديدييه دروجبا وسيرجيو أجويرو، بعدما سجل هاتريك في مباراة اليوم ضد رينجرز في دوري أبطال أوروبا.
